PROGRAM NOTES

We are thankful to be blessed with opportunities to deliver and expand the care and services we provide young girls in our community - today and tomorrow.
Live-In Family Life Coordinators
Very exciting news! We are updating Faith cottage as we get ready to welcome StreetLightUSA’s first team of staff that will live on campus. This fall, five dedicated individuals will join our team to serve as Family Life Coordinators. Their permanent presence and assignment to a specific cottage will further enhance StreetLightUSA's dedication to cultivating a family-like environment, proven to be a powerful element of the healing journey. We are grateful to the donor that stepped in with a special gift to fund new flooring and to all who give freely, allowing us to make use of resources when and where the need is greatest.
Addressing Crisis Pregnancy
An added challenge many girls face when victimized by sex trafficking is pregnancy. Pregnancy can make it even more difficult to find and receive the best care for both children - the traumatized teen and her unborn baby. We are grateful to announce StreetLightUSA is now equipped to serve and accept girls who are pregnant.
Therapeutic Sensory Intake Room
As we expand and improve our campus, careful consideration is always given to how these environmental changes will impact or benefit the girls and program. We are pleased to share our intake room is being remodeled to serve as a trauma-informed sensory room designed and demonstrated to help stabilize and embrace new girls the minute they first step through the door. Stay tuned for updates and pictures of this beautiful, welcoming room.
The Power of Partnership
A few of our GCU student volunteers who provide tutoring and support during the school year are staying in Phoenix for the summer, and are visiting campus weekly to provide water game activities for the girls. Thank you volunteers and GCU for the many ways you continue to support our mission and ministry.
Celebrating Birthdays
In April we expanded our partnership with Renewed Life Church in Surprise and created a monthly “Dessert Party” for the girls. This event also serves as a Birthday celebration on the occasion we have a girl in residence with a birthday in the particular month. Each month the team from Renewed Life brings dessert (cupcakes, ice cream, etc.), goodie bags and a fun activity like jewelry making and manicures. The ability for the girls to look ahead expectantly for this event and the connection with the volunteers has been incredibly positive. Thank you Renewed Life!
